Church Blessing Dubrovnik

Getting a St. Blaise church blessing in the historic center of Dubrovnik with St. Blaise being the city protector is certainly a great owner.
On behalf of St. Blaise the laws where constituted, the coins minted with his image, boats where sailing under his Dubrovnik flag, representatives were sent to foreign countries. It's statues were watching travelers and newcomers, his paintings were watching from all house corners and preventing many misdeeds and crimes.
Veneration of the patron Saint Blaise remained a constant through all the turbulent times of the Dubrovnik history, unchanged and the permanent protection.

Where was this image taken

Near the Ploce gate. The Ploce Gate was designed in what historians call a double defense system and thus was quite effective in times of trouble. The smaller inner Gate of Ploce as a part of a defense city wall sheltered by the high Asimon fort (Fort of Ploce) is erected in Romanesque style. If you want to look at the marvelous style of architecture that was used in the past then you must visit this spot of sightseeing.
